Permit Application, Submission & Municipal Coordination
Permit documents are one part of getting approved. If you'd rather not manage the application, submission, and reviewer questions yourself, we can handle some or all of it.
Request My Project ReviewPermit Documents Come First
Our permit document fee covers preparing the drawings and code documentation for your project. Application preparation, submission, and coordination of review comments are separate services because the time they take depends on your municipality and your project.
Tell us on the review form how much help you want. We'll include it in your proposal as its own line, so you can see exactly what you're paying for.
Three Separately Scoped Services
Every project starts with permit documents. From there, choose how much of the municipal process you want us to handle.
Application Preparation
We complete the permit application forms for your project and assemble the package your construction office requires.
- Construction permit application and applicable subcode technical sections
- Compilation of drawings and supporting documents
- Checklist of owner and contractor signatures and items you provide
Municipal Submission
We submit the completed package to your construction office, in person or through the municipality's online system where available.
- Submission by the method your municipality requires
- Confirmation of receipt and application number
- Status updates when the municipality issues them
Coordination Through Permit Issuance
We respond to plan review comments and revise the documents until the permit is issued.
- Review of comments from the construction official and subcode officials
- Document revisions and written responses
- Resubmission and follow-up through permit issuance
Permit fees charged by the municipality are paid by the owner and are not part of our fees. We cannot guarantee approval or municipal timelines.
What You Need to Know
Are these services included in my permit document fee?
No. They are optional and scoped separately. Your proposal lists each service you choose as its own item.
Can I submit the permit application myself?
Yes. Many clients or their contractors submit the application. Choose 'Permit documents only' on the review form.
Who pays the municipal permit fees?
The property owner pays permit fees to the municipality. They are not part of our fees.
Can you guarantee my permit will be approved?
No one can guarantee approval. Our role is to prepare complete documents and respond to reviewer comments so the review process moves as efficiently as possible.
